Is It Too Late For Halloween Or Are Done Already?
Beginning in September, ‘APPARENTLY’ is Halloween already! That is, if you manage to judge from the influx of all the Halloween-themed invites and newsletters flooding my DMs and inboxes.
The Influx Of Halloween-Themed Events:
We heard that there was some Boo Bash Mother-Son night at someone’s school. The date was set an entire month before October. This meant that mothers were rushing to the store trying to figure out a Halloween costume for their sons and themselves in the middle of September.
Interestingly, if we had the opportunity to attend this party, we would definitely not be in costume. Come on, it’s better to be the only parent who couldn’t figure out what to wear for Halloween. And that, too, right after Labor Day.
Then, towards the end of September, there was a local trunk-or-treat event. Kids attended in costumes to gorge on Skittles, lollipops, and candies. Not even 1st October and trick-or-treating already. But who is actually counting?
Most parents who attended the Boo Bash and the Trunk-or-Treating events told us that their kids wore completely different costumes to the two events since that would just be boring, too economical, and very easy.
Now that we are so close to the actual events, our calendars are packed with similar events. While each of these Halloween events is exciting and makes Halloween so much more fun, we can’t help but wonder if all this leading will dull the actual finale.
By the time we reach 31st October, we would have already dressed up multiple times, and so would our kids. They must have overindulged in the candies multiple times.
What will be the big deal about Halloween? We can’t wait to find out!
