Charlize Theron Opens Up About Parenting

Charlize Theron Opens Up About Parenting: On A Constant Journey Of Learning!

Charlize Theron is looking at the whole world out there differently through the eyes of her children. The Oscar-winning actor opened up last Thursday at the 10th Annual Philanthropy Summit of Town & Country about how her kids inspite her to find out about new stuff like Ancient Egypt.

The actress was being honored at the event along with Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Theron talked about her kid’s reactions to watching National Geographic, “‘Mom, they discovered!’ Now, we know the history of the Sphinx. I never thought I would want to know what’s going on with the Sphinx, and now I do.”

Theron is a mother to her two daughters – the 7-year-old August and the 11-year-old Jackson. She is no stranger to engaging with the youth. In 2007, the 48-year-old actor launched the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project to show support for the African youth in their fight against AIDS and HIV.

The actor-turned-philanthropist has always tried to look at the world out there with the help of a double lens.

However, the version completely changes when her own kids come into the picture, where being around them every other day has enabled the Mad Max: Fury Road star to actually observe how her kids comprehend everything on a detailed level.

Thereon says in this context, “In the moment, you’re like, ‘Oh, that’s funny.’ When you think about it, there’s actually real power in the innocence of what that is for them, and we lose that the older we get, so it’s great to have these two nuggets.”

The actor started her journey in 2012 after she adopted her eldest daughter, Jackson, and three years later, in 2015, she welcomed her second daughter, August, into her life. The native from South Africa revealed to People Magazine later in 2018 that she was always aware that she would be interested in adoption. Her entry into motherhood with adoption seemed normal, considering her upbringing and very early exposure to kids in need and orphanages.
